Stains are a rough guide. Orange or rust-brown in the toilet tank and on laundry points to iron. Blue-green under a dripping faucet points to acidic water dissolving copper. White crust on the shower head is hardness. The colors start the conversation. The test numbers finish it.

When a well tests acidic, the Calcite Neutralizer raises the pH before the water reaches anything else. It works on inlet pH between 5.0 and 7.0. Skipping this step leaves the copper plumbing exposed no matter what else is installed.

Yes, and it's a meaningful share of what we do. Wells in Wake, Harnett, Chatham and Johnston counties commonly come back with iron, hydrogen sulfide, sediment or low pH. Those need genuinely different equipment than a city water home — which is why we test first instead of quoting off a price list.
It comes down to how much water you use and what is in it. Our Single Tank puts softening resin and catalytic carbon together in one mixed bed, which suits most city homes with up to three bathrooms, and the Single Tank XL is the same build sized for four or more. A dual tank gives each media its own tank — a softener tank plus a catalytic carbon tank on city water, or on a well, a softener tank plus an iron and sulfur tank. Continuous demand and harder problems push you toward dual. We size it off your test and your household, not your square footage.
It corrects acidic water. Low pH is common in NC well water, and acidic water slowly eats copper plumbing — the telltale sign is blue-green staining in sinks and tubs. A calcite neutralizer runs your water through crushed calcium carbonate, which raises the pH back to neutral. If your well tests acidic (the neutralizer is rated for inlet pH 5.0 to 7.0), this usually has to be handled before anything else.
